Tina is a 20-year-old young woman who came to Our Place Peel because of the unsafe environment at her home.

Her concern and goal was to be independent. So, she reached out to our Outreach Employment Program and met with an employment team member. Tina discussed her goals and plans but did not know where to start. Tina felt that no matter how hard she tried, she really was getting nowhere, and needed help to point her in the right direction.

Tina was determined to find a full-time job and work more hours. In addition, she wanted to go back to school and upgrade her high school credits so she could one day attend college. Within just a month, Tina found two new jobs to help support herself. This has allowed her to secure housing and the ability to put aside some money into her savings. Tina is also attending part-time school to upgrade her credits. She now knows the Outreach Team will continue to support her when needed.
